1. Policy Statement
FamilyAmour is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children using our supervised contact services.
2. Our Approach
We believe that the welfare of the child is paramount, all children have the right to protection from abuse and harm, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we must work together with families and agencies to protect children.
3. Recognising Abuse
Our staff are trained to recognise signs of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse as it affects children.
4. Responding to Concerns
If a member of staff has concerns about a child's welfare, they will listen carefully, document the concern accurately, report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead immediately, and avoid investigating independently.
5. Information Sharing
We will share information with statutory agencies when there is risk of significant harm, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the welfare of a child.
6. Safer Recruitment
All staff undergo enhanced DBS checks, reference checks, verification of qualifications and experience, and safeguarding training before working with children.
7. Training
All staff receive regular safeguarding training, including induction, refresher sessions, and updates on legislation and guidance.
8. Record Keeping
We maintain accurate records of all safeguarding concerns, actions taken, and outcomes. Records are stored securely and retained in accordance with legal requirements.
9. Review
This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if there are changes to legislation or following a safeguarding incident.
10. Reporting Concerns
If you have any safeguarding concerns about a child using our services, please contact us immediately at hello@familyamour.co.uk. In an emergency, contact the police on 999.
